Established
- Chemical identity C₁₉H₂₈O₂ (≈ 288.4 g/mol).
- Biosynthetic relationship Its acid form, CBGVA, is the varin analog of CBGa, so decarboxylating CBGVA would give neutral CBGV.
Not yet established
- Any human evidence Nobody has published a trial of CBGV's effects in people, or a dedicated human pharmacokinetic or dose-ranging study of CBGV isolate.
- A graded target profile CBGV has turned up in in-vitro receptor and ion-channel screens, cited below.
- Independent replication Each CBGV observation rests on roughly one lab report, and the CB1/CB2 work has authors employed by a cannabinoid supplier.
Cardiovascular note grade: grade: Hypothesized
CBG may influence blood pressure via α2-adrenoceptor activity; the direction and magnitude of any human effect are uncharacterized. Mechanistic plausibility only: the receptor activity has been measured in the laboratory, and no study has measured a blood-pressure effect of CBG in a person. A CBG finding, printed here because CBGV shares the family; it does not transfer to CBGV. If you take blood-pressure medication or have a cardiovascular condition, consult a clinician first.
