Buying a CBG reference standard.
A potency figure on a COA is only as good as the standard the lab calibrated against. So before a CBG neat standard, certified solution or reference material goes on the order for quantitation, calibration or method validation, put three questions to the supplier. Research use only.
What makes a standard fit to cite.
Certified reference materials
Where the work demands it, buy a CRM produced under ISO 17034. A high-purity neat, however clean, is not a substitute.
Stated uncertainty & traceability
Look for a certified value with its uncertainty stated, traceable to a recognised reference. Defensible quantitation rests on that one line of the certificate.
Identity by MS / NMR
Identity confirmed by independent (orthogonal) methods, plus an impurity table for each lot. Without them, you are taking the label on the vial on trust.
