CBG and neuroinflammation

What does the evidence show for CBG and neuroinflammation?

In a laboratory (in vitro) cell model of neuroinflammation, CBG pre-treatment reduced markers of nerve-cell death, inflammation, and oxidative stress. This is a single test-tube study — not tested in animals or people for this use, and not evidence of benefit in humans.

grade: Lowpreclinical only
What reaching the next rung would take

Any one of these, on top of what our registry already holds:

  • two animal (preclinical) effect studies from independent research groups, agreeing in direction
  • one human trial of any size — including a small, short (acute / single-dose) one

The grade weighs the claim as a whole, across every study our registry holds on the question. How good any one of those papers is remains a separate matter, and you can judge each on its own terms.

Other conditions we cover

The CBG monograph covers the compound end to end, and the gap-map charts the questions nobody has tested yet.

CBG acts on α2-adrenoceptors, which help regulate blood pressure; anyone taking cardiovascular medication should consult a clinician before using CBG products. Nothing on this page is medical advice, and no statement here is a claim that CBG treats, cures, or prevents any condition. Grades are based on the studies we had checked as of 9 August 2026.
